What’s New with Blue

We hope everyone had a great holiday season! The new year is a busy time at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Center for Countering Human Trafficking as January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Throughout the month, Blue Campaign leads activities to raise awareness of and combat this horrendous crime. One of our larger initiatives is #WearBlueDay on Jan. 11—help us make this #WearBlueDay the best yet!

#WearBlueDay

Anyone can participate in #WearBlueDay. Just wear blue clothing and take photos of yourself or with others (family members, colleagues, friends, neighbors, or pets) wearing blue—the international color of human trafficking awareness. Then, share these photos on social media channels like Facebook, X, LinkedIn, or Instagram with the hashtag #WearBlueDay. The goal is for as many people and groups to post as possible (with the hashtag) to raise awareness and get social media “talking” about human trafficking.

Need inspiration? Check out how others have done it here. You can also download our content to post on social channels, including already written messages. Also, follow @DHSBlueCampaign on Facebook, Instagram, and X to see if your post has been reposted or shared!

In addition to #WearBlueDay, CCHT hosts free webinars throughout the month to help the public learn about recognizing and reporting human trafficking. Attendees will hear and learn from DHS and CCHT leaders about human trafficking 101—what the crime is, how to spot it, and how to report it. Additionally, these webinars will discuss how traffickers operate, how they spot potential victims, and resources available to help. The webinars are offered in English and Spanish, and content is relevant for all experience levels.

These free, one-hour webinars will be held on the following dates:

Jan. 6, 2025, 3:30 p.m. ET (for the general public)
